Bar Paradox, a one-time collaboration between Melbourne’s casual dining heavyweight, SUPERNORMAL and our very own Orlando Marzo, is certain to get tongues wagging this Autumn. Open for only 13 nights, the dynamic underground bar will showcase the tight collection of Loro’s bespoke Bottled Cocktails –Olive Martini, Bergamot Negroni, Coffee Cocktail, and the Cherry & Cacao Manhattan to complement a short but epic snack menu. Think raw fish from the Sapphire Coast, a prawn roll featuring bonito mayonnaise and Tasmanian wasabi, a silken tofu and sesame cracker with avocado, and spiced peanuts with laver. A refined flavour match to Loro’s line-up.

But, the scene-stealer will be the signature Paradox Bramble. Honouring the flavours of Sth East Asia and staying grounded in Naarm, Loro has combined Tanqueray Royale blackcurrant gin, Australian native strawberry gum and makrut to elevate the traditional Bramble cocktail to a super-normal level.

Deep down the spiral staircase under SUPERNORMAL, Bar Paradox promises to be the perfect preamble to dinner, or a delicious, post-show climax for Comedy Festival goers, this is the below-deck-buzz the city’s been craving.
